Take care of a new cast of kooky characters with the Operation CD-ROM. Patch up patients in the operating room, or fix monsters at Haunted Hospital. Step back in time and cure the prehistoric creatures in Dino Hospital, or jump into the future and take care of aliens at the Space Hospital. You can even go wild and destroy nasty germs in the Microscopic Mission.

4 out of 5 stars Fun for everyone   June 12, 2007

Both my 3 year old and my 6 year old like this game. Easy to play, interesting enough to keep attention. Very interesting twist to the real game. Worth the buy, especially if you have a million other games. This is a nice addition to your stock.

4 out of 5 stars Neat game!   August 12, 2006

I bought Operation for my mentally handicapped students who are at a prek to kindergarten grade level. I was hoping to see my students have fun with this game plus get an idea of what a doctor/surgeon might do at his or her job. Unfortunately, most of my students have difficulty using the mouse and thus had problems with this game. I would recommend this game for anyone with a child or adult at a prek to kindergarten grade level and wants to help that person develop his or her mouse use skills. If the student does not give up easily, this game could work real well in developing one's mouse use skills. Also, I would recommend the game if you enjoyed playing Operation as a kid!

This game is a blast, once you get the hang of it!!! I'm [...] and haven't played it for a while, but when I was [...] I would play almost every day. The new features are great too. Going inside the patient is fun, until you run into germs. I gave it a five because it was really easy and fun from the beggining, and playing with friends is the best.

4 out of 5 stars Fix my Broken Heart Doctor!   December 19, 2003

The classic board game turned into a fun computer game! - My 4 & 5 yr old girls love it! You have your choice of 4 hospitals, all with different patients to operate on, and different ailments! My kids gained fine motor skills learning to control the computer mouse better while playing this game. You don't want to touch the sides or the invading germs while you are removing the necessary item or the lady might scream at you, or the dog might bark at you! (Not just the annoying buzzing sound here!) After successfully treating 5, 10, etc. patients, you are given the option to print out a Junior Doctor certificate with your child's name on it! This is a fun game, with a touch of fine motor skill development thrown in. I recommend this one! -I gave only 4 stars as it does take some skill development to get those nasty germs, etc. out of the patients.

4 out of 5 stars For Kids of All Ages   January 29, 2000

A great game for little kids who are just learning to play it for the first time, as well as us older kids who grew up with the battery-operated board game. The idea is still the same - taking turns removing parts from your patient and earning dollars. But watch out! In the original game your clamp couldn't touch the metal edges or the patient's nose would light up and buzz and you would lose your turn. Now it's not only the metal edges you have to watch out for, but various germs or micro-organisms which, if you come in contact with, will also end your turn as well as cause the patient some discomfort. You can choose to operate at the main hospital with the traditional patient or go to a space hospital to perform surgery on an alien, a prehistoric hospital to operate on a dinosaur, or also choose from a Haunted Hospital and a Rain Forest Hospital. It's really kind of fun to play around with. But the best part is there's no batteries to replace and no small plastic parts to lose. I bet kids would like to play this with their parents to see who the better surgeon is.
