With all the intrigue, mystery, and adventure you've enjoyed in the Nancy Drew books, this role-playing game provides challenging and exciting computer activities for girls. In this traditional Nancy Drew mystery, you play the role of Nancy as a junior, senior, or master detective. Through sleuthing with your ever-present magnifying glass, you discover hundreds of clues, each leading to the truth behind the students of the high school. Secrets Can Kill employs 3-D graphics with detailed animations. Each character reacts to Nancy's specific situations. The intelligence of the game leaves nothing to be assumed--and the creepy music and hazardous situations keep you on your toes. Fun and Challenging Games December 30, 2008 K. McArthur This game is one of the first ones Her Interactive created, so it isn't as enhanced as the later ones, however it is a lot of fun and makes you think about your next move.
Primitive But Fun August 13, 2008 Jeanne Anderson (Chicago, IL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
While this game was primitive compared to all the other Nancy Drew games, it's definately worth a play if for no other reason then to see how these awesome games got their start. The graphics and the music are pretty funny and I got a kick out of how much cheesier the dialogue was. The overall plot structure of the game is fast compared to more recent games; you can do it in half the time. The most annoying part of the game is that every time you go to the high school (where about 75% of the game takes place), you had to change disks. Then while in the high school, you'd have to change disks back to get into other locations. There are also some quirks in the games that occur if you have a more up-to-date computer, but herinteractive.com has a message board and technical team that gives instructions about how to remedy the situations. All-in-all I had fun and would recommend this game to any true ND game fan. If this is your first crack and ND games, however, I'd try any other game first before playing this one. I don't think it will be fun for you if it's your first.
Fun, but annoying July 28, 2008 B. Gilmore (USA) I(t was a very fun game but it was annoying to have to change discs all the time. I have read the book but it was also very confusing. Overall it was okay.
Nancy Drew July 1, 2008 T. Herd Could never load it on any of my computers even though we have windows xp!
My favorite March 5, 2008 N. Rinehart This is absolutely my favorite ND game. I have about 15 of them. We are utter mac people but we keep our last windows for the purpose only of playing ND games. This is my favorite game because of the story line and the endless amounts of clues ( which does get a tid bit tedious but always more fun). The setting at the school is so intricate with so many possible clues that it makes you actually think. I am a die hard ND book and computer game fan (I've read too many to count :) ) and this game is absolutely fabulous.
