Amazon.com Review
A typhoon has struck Jurassic Park, knocking out the fences that keep the meat-eating dinosaurs away from their gentle herbivorous cousins. In Jurassic Park III: Dino Defender, players must trap the runaway predators and restore power to the fences before the great reptiles destroy each other completely.

Intended for children 8 years and older, Dino Defender is an arcade game of the obstacle-course variety. Players run, jump, climb, and swim their way through the park, looking for the circuit breakers that will power up the fences, while trying not to get eaten in the process. Along the way, helicopters drop down supplies critical to user survival: tranquilizers, dinosaur-trapping nets, flares, and even call boxes, which lure dinosaurs of a particular species.

The conceit behind Dino Defender is charming and has a wrinkle that makes it slightly different from that of similar games. While the player's mission is to save the dinosaurs, the monsters in Jurassic Park have no compunctions about devouring their rescuers. One mistake, and the ungrateful beasts will tear a player apart. Even so, the gore content of the game is low, while the action is fast paced and exciting.

The look of this game is lush and appealing, with mazes that offer decent problem-solving challenges without being overly complex. As a result, Dino Defender will please young action fans immensely. It offers nonstop opportunities to fall down cliffs and drown in rivers... not to mention getting eaten by a hungry velociraptor. --Alyx Dellamonica

5 out of 5 stars heart - stopping thriller!   July 28, 2006
I got this game on Amazon when I was nine,(by the way,I'm still nine, anyway)It took forever to get here, but when it finally came,I nearly jumped out of my pants! Level 1 is mildly hard, but extremely fun! First of all, there's a mini-movie that shows you being dropped on the island. Then the game(and the fun,) begins! Explore all you want! But watch out for dinos!(duh!) If you go behind the main screen, you will find a pack of compies that will instantly attack you. This eventualy gets frustrating. Then I finally got to level 2.Belive me,it's hard!I eventualy abandoned the game. A year later,I played it again because I was bored. Now I'm on level 3!It's even harder! Good luck!

5 out of 5 stars OPERATION:Typhoon!!!!   May 25, 2006
I love this game alot,I had this game since i was about 9 or 10 years old.I'm not sure. The first time I played,i was frustrated.I couldn't beat level 3.So i abandoned it.I think when i was 10 i played it because I had nothing better to do.I then noticed that letting the pteronadon fly to the right gave me enough time to advance to the left. Now, I had come to the rise where rocks were falling.Failing many times i wanted to abandon it again.I noticed that there was a space i can position my self between the rocks.I had a blast going through level 4 and 5,not sure about level 6...because i saw only 5 movies.I was happy I finnally finished the game. Now my game is damaged.I am now 11 and I am buying another copy of the game! OPERATION:Typhoon!!! (jurassic park theme song)

This game is pretty fun. I don't know why some people complain that it is too hard. I beat it several times. You just have to be the kind of person who doesn't get too discouraged and gives up too easily. I'll admit some of my nephews and nieces can't beat it, so I think maybe it should be for ages 10 and up. But I got this game when I was like 12 and I had a lot of fun. I'm now 16 and I still like it. The graphics are decent, the strategy is cool, the only thing I don't like about it is it's like a Super Mario game. You only view from the side. You can't move the camera in a 360 to view all of your three-dimensional world. But all in all, a fun, addictive game. I think I'll go play it now!
