Product Description Introduces the concepts of color matching, shape sorting and counting with seven different activities. With Cranky the Crane, you unload packages from Bulstrode the Barge. Plus, help Harold the Helicopter clear the tracks of debris, put together fairground rides, and much more!
Amazon.com Review Thomas and his friends are getting ready for a festival. They have to prepare the rides, sort the goods coming in for the event, and even catch up with some runaway cows before the festival can take place. What's more, they can't move a piston until they're cleaned up in the engine shop. Thomas & Friends: The Great Festival Adventure offers a series of games to computer users as young as 2 years old. As Thomas, Harold, and the other trains and tractors prepare for the festival, they enlist the players' aid to do everything from keeping track of the number of passengers who can fit in a passenger car to conducting the festival band. Early sorting, color matching, and shape-recognition skills are given a workout in the process. The game also seeks to keep its young target audience engaged by including long animated sequences of Thomas going about his business and interacting with his various friends as he does. This program gives an excellent introduction to educational computer gaming for kids and parents alike. With bright, simple graphics and easy-to-run activities, it is both simple to use and varied enough to maintain player interest. Thomas fans will be delighted with the opportunity to polish up and oil the various locomotives, and the animations will provoke laughter and delight among train-loving kids. The end result is a package that will please early learners immensely. (Ages 2 to 6) --Alyx Dellamonica

Works on XP, Vista December 11, 2008 Jordan Brown (Granada Hills, CA USA) Kids 2-5 love it. But you already know that from the other reviews. I wanted to comment on compatibility. I believe we have this edition - it's fairly old, and it has the Hasbro brand. It appears to work fine on both XP (SP3) and Vista Home Basic. I installed it on XP a long time ago and don't remember if I had to do anything special, but I don't immediately see anything. I just now installed it on Vista, and it appears to work fine immediately. Printing does switch away from the window, and you have to switch back manually. (That's why it only gets four stars.) BTW, this game is great for teaching mouse-eye coordination.
Engaging computer game for Thomas fans March 26, 2007 E. Cecilio My son loves this game. One part of the adventure is to help Cranky the Crain match colors and shapes.
Love, love, love it September 13, 2006 Sam I Am (Ohio) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I work with autistic children and thus far this game has been worth its weight in gold. It's simple enough for the younger children to operate with a bit of demonstration and for a couple of my kids is the only thing I can motivate them with.
A good game for little Thomas fans November 12, 2005 Sunny in WA (Seattle, WA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My son started playing this game when he was about 3 years old and just loves it. He's almost four and he's still playing with it. He's now at the point where he doesn't even need help and manage to play on his own.
Crying Nightmare not worth this March 3, 2005 Julie K. Trammel 12 out of 16 found this review helpful
Santa brought this game to my 3 year old and let me tell you it sucked. I couldnt get it to work on any of the three computers I have (one of which runs Win 98). He stills cries almost daily to play the game and it has been over two months. I will not buy from Atari again it is not worth the nightmare of watching my Thomas fanatic son cry.
