Product Description
Rollercoaster Tycoon 3: Wild is an incredible expansion pack that brings the majesty of Nature to your amusement park. Now you can do more than just add water parks, you can create an incredible circus filled with animal attractions. Build animal enclosures, cages, and attractions like a choreographed lion tamer show set in an arena. The little ones can ride on elephants, and the whole family can ride an SUV on a guided rail. Two radical new coaster types - One that has two cars rolling side-by-side then splitting off, another with cars hanging from a robot arm

I decided to buy this expansion a year maybe after it first came out, and truly, I regret waiting! The idea of a safari park is a bit unusual, but I believe that it was handled pretty well by "Wild!". Really, it's a cool and unique little idea to mix Zoo Tycoon and Roller Coaster Tycoon, but a lot of people see it as ridiculous. It is ridiculous, but in a good way. A creative way.
I'll stop here before I start drolling.
In short, I give this game...expansion pack...a good five stars. After all, it rekindled my love for Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 and the additional stuff really does improve the base game. That's just my opinion.
5 Stars!

5 out of 5 stars Great Expansion for a Good Tycoon Game   July 28, 2007
Mike (Long Island, NY)
I own all 3 expansions and together they give a little bit extra to RCT3's score. I think the orginal RCT3 was a huge step up from the Rollercoaster Tycoon and RCT2. I loved the original Roller Coaster Tycoon and whats great about Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 is that there is no need to reinstall Rollercoaster Tycoon. RCT 3 has great graphics, almost real looking peeps (as they are called in the game), great buisness simulator, and terrific rollercoaster building as well as building other rides. In Thrillville you don't have any flexability to design your own rollercoaster track or to think about where to put it. I love buisness simulators. Yes I am a sucker when i see the name Tycoon lol. Rollercoaster Tycoon definatley gets a trophy for being the first to use Tycoon in its name and yes there have been some awful games using the tycoon name.

Some people scoff at the idea of zoos at amusement parks but in 2008 think about it: Bush Gardens; Disney Worlds African Safari and Sea World (fish are included as well) has a lot more rides than what it use to have 20 years ago.

In short, RCT3 wants you to build up a theme park complete with rides, food and souveneir stalls, as well as bathroom and first aid stalls. The addition of firework displays and laser light shows is good. You can complete the scenarios or like me, I do some of the scenarios and then do the Sandbox Mode. It would be nice that after your hard work you get some type of reward to use in your park when you complete a scenario. The minor irratant is the bigger the theme park the more chance you have of a peep getting lost or being somewhere where they're not suppose to. Just like in the orginal when they are basically so closes to the rollercoaster tracks they can get hurt and their path finding. Even placing fences around your rides, the peeps still manage to go where they aren't suppose to. Sometimes you have to pick up a peep and drop him right by the exit. There is also a minor problem for mechanics who have trouble inspecting all the rides before they start breaking down.

Wild introduces animals to allow you to create a Bush Gardens type of theme park complete with rides and an animal safari. With Soaked you can create a massive Theme Park that has rollercoasters, mini-rides, animal safari, and water rides. This can be a fantastic fun buisness tycoon game if it was slightly more polished. I just can't believe how the designers just gave up on the game. For Thrillville? I didn't like it at all. What did you think of Thrillville?

I would of also like to see the game adding parking lots (get money from tolls to enter the parking lots), building a transportation and ticket center complete with busses and monorails (see Disney World) and the introduction of buisness hours. If you are going to include day/night and time why not run real clock time. If its 12pm show the brightness of the skies and ground, and in real life time, if its 8pm show the dark skies and below with the lights on. If you set your park to close at 9pm, hear a loudspeaker anouncing that the park is closing please exit. Allow from the time your park is closed to the next day it is open, your workers would be able to clean up, repaint, inspect, and fix everything in the park so everything is set for the next day. They should also incorporate an underground that your employees use and a garbage chute system similar to Disney. The billboard system only works if an online ad agency signed on. In North America this is not the case. So if you live in the area that has this agency then you get updated billboards when you are on the internet while you are playing the game. If not, the only billboard that is shown is an advertisement for Frontier. Your only way of dotting your park with billboards is to go online and get images of companies and such using a search engine. One fansite in RCT3 website does have a link to all sorts of images for your billboards if you look through there forums but most of the fan sites have closed. Good Job Frontier and LucasArts .

This is a good game and I was looking foward to more expansions after Wild. RCT3 is so much better than Thrillville. In Thrillville you are handcuffed at what you can do. Unfortunately LucasArts and Frontier are not satisfied with the millions in revenue from the RCT3 franchise and killed it. The greed is in Thrillville which isn't even all that; compared to RCT3. And so, the RCT3 website is hardly updated, and a lot of the fan sites are gone. Im disgusted the way this game was left for dead. I truly love this game and with a little more depth and polish it would be standing next to the Sims Franchise as highly addictive, and many {more} units sold. If any designers are out there, please revive this game and make it even better. Chris Sawyer, pllllllease!!!!!
