1 out of 5 stars American Baby makes it IMPOSSIBLE to unsubscribe from their free unasked for subscription.   July 11, 2010

I have not read this magazine at all so I can't offer any thing in that regard, but rather this is directed towards their customer service (or lack of.)

Suddenly I started receiving this magazine on a regular basis. I did not subscribe nor ask for it. I am in my fifties and have NO children. I've tried repeatedly to get them to unsubscribe me, as I send this magazine straight to the trash the moment it arrives. After getting several of these, I went to their website and after creating an account and signing in, wrote to them telling them to unsubscribe me, but to no avail, the magazines still come. So, I tried to do it again just now, but after having made an account the first time I requested them to quit sending me this, I just end up going around and around and around because for SOME reason it claims not to recognize my password and when I click on 'forgotten password', I get sent on more circuitous routes to no avail. If there was a phone number I could find in their fine print to call, I would, but I can't see one.

I suppose it's a small thing to get bombarded with a free magazine that I immediately send to the circular file, but it annoys me that they keep sending it and refuse to unsubscribe me from it when I request them to do so, not to mention it being a waste of paper, time and energy. If anyone has any tips on how to stop this magazine from coming to my home, I would appreciate it, short of sending them a certified letter via snailmail to PLEASE STOP SENDING IT.

And also, I have to wonder why they insist on sending a free magazine to people who didn't request it, nor want it. Are they pushing some agenda or marketing scheme? I'm sure there probably are some who like this magazine and it's 'price', and that's fine, but I would really appreciate it if they would quit sending it to those that don't wish to receive it. At least make unsubscribing to it much more user friendly and not some cryptic circuitous exercise that does not work.

4 out of 5 stars Packed Full of Usefull Info   December 16, 2008

I read several baby magazines and this by far was my favorite. Especially for the first time mothers. There's lots of questions during baby's first year of life and this magazine specifically addresses that age! It's a great gift to give to first time parents as well.

1 out of 5 stars Not worth the low low price of free   November 14, 2008

This magazine perfectly reflects the American attitudes toward child-rearing. It "mentions" breastfeeding, but it's only a token mention. In the very next paragraph is information that contradicts all the fundamentals of breastfeeding. Sleeping through the night no later than 4 months?? Breastfed babies often need an overnight feeding through their ninth month. This is just one example. I don't care that this magazine is free or only a few dollars a year. I will not be bringing this useless pile of crap into my house anymore.

I've been gettng this magazine ever since I was pregnant with my first daughter and I think it's a great magazine even with my second daughter I'm still learning new info. But it's pointless to buy the magazine when you can just order a free subscription on the american baby website (I've been getting it for free for 7 years now)
